Gas explosion at Council Idimu Lagos state. Several items were damaged on Saturday as a result of a gas explosion at a market near Council Bus-Stop in Lagos State’s Idimu region.

According to our source, the inferno destroyed seven lock-up establishments. The fire also burned some vehicles parked in a mechanic shop near the stores.

According to Margaret Adeseye, Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, the emergency call was made at 2pm, and the fire, which resulted from the leakage of a gas cylinder in use at one of the stores, caused an explosion that spread to several other establishments.

It went on to say that the fire had been put out and that attempts were being made to dampen any residual flames.
