Nigeria at 4th position in AFCON ticket purchase. According to the Confederation of African Football, Nigeria ranks fourth in terms of tickets purchased ahead of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, writes The PUNCH.
The 34th edition of the AFCON is set to take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, covering five cities on West Africa’s south coast, and CAF on Thursday tweeted ticket purchases.
According to CAF, Nigeria has one of the top five ticket sales on the continent.
According to data from the football governing organization X handle, the country purchased a total of 12,544 tickets.
The host country, Ivory Coast, is in first place with 32,307 tickets sold, followed by Guinea-Bissau (28,614) and Equatorial Guinea (16,237) in second and third place, respectively.
Champions, Senegal, rounded out the top five in terms of ticket sales, with 10,959 figures.
Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, and Nigeria, the top four ticket-buying countries, are all grouped together in Group A.
