Bandits attack claims Four lives in Benue.
Bandits struck again in Benue State, leaving a trail of death and despair in their wake. The latest attack, which occurred in the village of Ikobi in Apa Local Government Area, resulted in the tragic loss of four lives. According to Atule Amodu, a community leader, the assailants descended on the unsuspecting village under cover of darkness, catching residents off guard.
“These bandits came into Ikobi and mercilessly killed four people,” Amodu recounted. “They operate with impunity, striking every other day, and roam the area with their cattle.”
Eche Akpoko, a legal practitioner and chairman of the Apa Development Association, confirmed the devastating incident. “I received reports this morning indicating that four bodies were discovered following the attack,” Akpoko lamented.
However, Catherine Anen, the state Public Relations Officer, stated that she had not yet received official confirmation of the incident.
The recurring violence in Benue State underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect vulnerable communities from the menace of banditry.
