Supplementary budget: Adamawa State plans N55.5bn.
The Adamawa Government has put forward a budget as supplementary of N55.5 billion for the 2024 fiscal year as the budget, according to State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Neido Kofulto. This proposal emerged from an emergency executive council meeting chaired by Deputy Governor Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta. Kofulto explained that the budget aims to accommodate and finance projects initially omitted from the main budget as a supplementary. The resolution on this budgetary adjustment will soon be presented to the State House of Assembly for approval. Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Emmanuel Piridimso, highlighted the increase in state finances as the driving force behind the budget targeted as supplementary. Ministries set to benefit from this allocation include Education, Women’s Affairs, Commerce and Industries, and Works and Energy Development, among others. This move follows the presentation of an initial appropriation estimate of N225.8 billion by the State government of Adamawa in December 2023.
