According to reports, the Black Sea grain deal has been extended in the ongoing Ukraine-Russia conflict.

The Black Sea Grain deal, which was brokered by the United Nations, was set to expire on May 18. Russia has issued a threat to not extend the deal until its agricultural demands, which are linked to the agreement, are met.

According to the Russian envoy to the United Nations, the extension of the deal was agreed upon by the Kremlin as they remain optimistic that their demands pertaining to the agreement will eventually be addressed.

The extension of the deal has been welcomed by Ukraine, which has emphasized that Russia must refrain from utilizing food as a tool for sabotage or blackmail.
