Idaho sheriff says pregnant woman, toddler fatally shot

In a tragic incident, law enforcement officials have confirmed the discovery of the lifeless bodies of a 33-year-old expectant mother and her young son in a residence located in the northern region of Idaho.

Authorities have reported that a residence in northern Idaho was the site of a tragic incident where a 33-year-old pregnant woman and her toddler son were discovered deceased due to gunshot wounds.

According to an official statement made on Facebook by Sheriff Holly Lindsey of Shoshone County, deputies were dispatched to a residence at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday in response to a report of a fatality.

The remains of Elizabeth Lawley and her two-year-old son were discovered at the location.

Both had gunshot wounds, and a preliminary investigation indicates that Lawley shot and killed the boy and then herself, according to the sheriff.

According to reports from various news outlets, the sheriff has stated that Lawley was pregnant.

According to Lindsey, who has served in Shoshone County for 19 years, the sheriff’s office is currently experiencing an unprecedented level of solemnity and distress.

Today proved to be a challenging day for both the local community, our office, and the affected family. The Facebook post expressed empathy towards the family and acknowledged the difficulty of their situation.

Located along the Interstate 90, to the east of Coeur d’Alene, lies the quaint town of Wallace.
