Tragic discovery: Woman Found in Alligator’s Jaws in Largo, Florida
In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 41-year-old woman, identified as Sabrina Peckham, was discovered lifeless in the grasp of a 13-foot alligator in Largo, Florida. The grim incident unfolded on Saturday, prompting a swift response from authorities in the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Sabrina Peckham’s neighbor, JaMarcus Bullard, recounted the shocking moment when he found her ensnared by the alligator and promptly dialed 911.
“It (the alligator) lifted up out of the water with the body, like it was just clamped onto it, and it like swam backwards, like, under to the bottom of the canal to the other side,” described Bullard. He added, “I just couldn’t believe it was real.”
In a joint effort, deputies and officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission took necessary measures to “humanely kill” the alligator, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office. Following this, a specialized dive team successfully retrieved Peckham’s remains from the canal.
