Kano:DSS apprehends 22-year-old lady for alleged suicide threats
The Department of State Security (DSS) has taken into custody a 23-year-old woman, Fildausi Ahamadu, on charges of purportedly making suicide threats against individuals she deemed responsible for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, in Kano State’s election petitions tribunal.
A reliable source within the DSS, who opted to remain anonymous, confirmed the lady’s arrest on Tuesday. Ahamadu, who identified herself as an advocate for the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and Governor Abba Yusuf, featured in a widely circulated video clip in the city.
In the video, spoken in Hausa, Fildausi was heard lambasting the presiding judge in the tribunal, issuing a stern warning that she wouldn’t hesitate to resort to drastic measures, including a bomb, if she encountered the judge.
Furthermore, she directed a warning towards Gawuna, asserting, “You must not reveal your whereabouts, else, I’m prepared to take extreme measures with a bomb vest.”
The lady also utilized the video clip to launch an attack on Vice President Kashim Shettima, using derogatory language and attributing blame to him for the legal predicament of the NNPP in Kano State.
The source indicated that steps are underway to secure Ahamadu’s arrest and bring her before the court. “We are indeed taking Fildausi Musa Ahamadu to court because these threats should not be taken lightly,” added the source.
