In a collaborative effort, the Nigerian Navy and their French counterparts have inaugurated the annual sea exercise, Crocodile Lift and Grand African NEMO 2023, in the Gulf of Guinea (GoG). This joint operation aims to bolster maritime security in the region, ensuring the safety of foreign trade within West Africa. Exercise Crocodile Lift, an amphibious sea drill, is the second series of its kind, following its initiation by the French Navy in November 2023 to combat maritime threats in the GoG. This year’s exercise, named after the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) KADA, is strategically designed to foster a conducive trading environment.
