Fernandes advices Man UTD. Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes slammed his team’s lack of control in Champions League games after the Red Devils blew a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 against Galatasaray on Wednesday.
The English giants are on the verge of elimination after winning only one of their first five games.
United must defeat German champions Bayern Munich at home in their last Group A encounter and hope that other results go their way to advance to the round of 16.
However, the Red Devils’ entire campaign has been a story of squandered opportunities.
They led Galatasaray twice at home before falling 3-2 in October, and they blew a two-goal lead to FC Copenhagen earlier this month.
United lead 2-0 after 20 minutes in Istanbul thanks to Fernandes’ magnificent strike, and they led 3-1 after an hour.
However, two costly blunders by goalkeeper Andre Onana allowed free-kicks from Hakim Ziyech to cut Galatasaray’s deficit, and they earned a point through Kerem Akturkoglu.
“To be honest,” Fernandes told TNT Sports, “it’s too bad.” “What we’ve done in the Champions League is insufficient; we need to control our games.”
