Afenifere scraps acting Leader position

Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural and political organization, Afenifere, announced the abolishment of the position of acting leader, which was previously held by Pa Ayo Adebanjo. The decision was made during the first general meeting of the year at Pa Reuben Fasoranti’s residence in Akure, with Fasoranti declaring that the office of acting leader no longer exists.

Dr. Samuel Ibikunle moved the motion to scrap the position, citing past issues within Afenifere and the need to return to the organization’s traditional leadership style. He highlighted the recent divergence in opinions regarding the next Nigerian president, where support was divided between Bola Tinubu and another candidate. The move aims to bring Afenifere back to its roots and uphold the ‘Omoluabi’ way of resolving issues that affect the Yoruba race.
