Tragic: Imo Poly graduate allegedly commits suicide

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 30-year-old graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Imo State, Nerus Elemamba, has reportedly taken his own life.

Elemamba’s lifeless body was discovered hanging in his room on Monday evening in Umuohii, Oboama community, Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.

According to reports, the young man allegedly ended his life after participating in the day’s village manual labor alongside his peers.

A source, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that Elemamba, who studied Architecture, showed no signs of depression prior to the tragic incident.

“The reason for his action is unknown to anybody,” the source lamented. “He was very healthy and participated in the village youth manual labor.”

Another source disclosed that Elemamba did not leave behind any suicide note, adding to the mystery surrounding his untimely demise.

Nerus Elemamba, the second son of late Mr. Cajethan Elemamba, was laid to rest after the necessary cultural rituals were performed.

The village youth leader, Iheukwumere Ibeh, expressed shock over the incident, stating that the community was at a loss for words. However, the police spokesperson in the state, Henry Okoye, stated that he had yet to receive official information regarding the incident.

This tragic loss serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and support within communities.
