Osun APC and PDP clash over Adeleke's security warning

The Osun State chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are at odds over Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent security alert regarding alleged plans by hoodlums to target schools and farm settlements in the state.

Adeleke raised concerns about potential attacks on schools and abductions, as well as threats to farm settlements, based on intelligence reports. He called for a security council meeting to address the situation.

In response, the APC, through its state chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, accused the governor of creating false panic to divert attention from his administration’s shortcomings. Lawal criticized Adeleke for what he termed as “grave pettiness” and urged him to focus on delivering the governance he promised during his campaign.

On the other hand, the PDP chairman, Mr. Sunday Bisi, condemned the APC’s denial of the security threats. He labeled the APC’s stance as inhumane and unpatriotic, emphasizing the importance of addressing genuine security concerns. Bisi commended Adeleke for his proactive approach in addressing the situation and accused the APC of playing politics with people’s lives.

While the APC criticized Adeleke for allegedly using security issues as a diversionary tactic, the PDP defended the governor’s actions, highlighting the importance of proactive measures to ensure peace and security in the state.

The clash between the two parties underscores the political tensions surrounding security issues in Osun State, with each side presenting contrasting views on Adeleke’s security warning.
