Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang
24hour curfew imposed in Plateau LG. Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has ordered a 24hour curfew in the state’s Mangu Local Government Area.
This was announced by the Governor in a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, on Sunday.
The 24hour curfew was imposed in response to recent attacks by shooters in the council area, which resulted in the loss of life and property.
“The Governor, in consultation with the State Security Council, imposed the curfew on the entire Local Government Area to restore law and order,” according to the statement.
“As a result, except for security personnel and those performing essential duties, movements within the Local Government have been prohibited until further notice.”
“As a result, security agencies have been directed to ensure that the curfew is strictly enforced.”
However, the statement informed the public that the administration is working around the clock to restore peace and security in the state.
According to the PUNCH, the current curfew enforced in Mangu LGA on Sunday was the second in less than a month.
