Police investigate a reported altercation at a Colorado restaurant.
Investigators are looking into what appears to have been a fight in a Colorado restaurant between Republican representative Lauren Boebert and her ex-husband.
Chief of Silt Police Mike Kite told CBS News that there was a “active investigation” going on, but he did not disclose any other details.
Ms. Boebert stated, “I didn’t punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested,” however it is unclear exactly what transpired.
Earlier this year, she and Jayson Boebert were divorced.
She also mentioned that she was speaking with a lawyer over untrue allegations made against her in the statement that was made public on Sunday.
Mr. Boebert stated to the Denver Post that he had no desire to file charges in connection with the incident.
He said to the newspaper, “I don’t want nothing to happen.” “Her and I were working through a difficult conversation.”
After being charged with disruptive behaviour in September, Ms. Boebert was led out of a Denver theatre during a production of the musical Beetlejuice.
She apologised for the event and cited her “difficult divorce” as the cause of her behaviour.
On X, which was then Twitter, Ms. Boebert said, “I plead guilty to laughing and singing too loud!” at the time.
She recently said that she will run in a new Colorado district in the 2024 election.
She said that the alleged restaurant incident was “another reason I’m moving” in her statement from Sunday.
