SGF warns strictly against abuse of his office. Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has warned against using his office to make false appointments to members of the public.
Akume issued the warning in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja by the Head of Information, Office of the SGF, Mr Segun Imohiosen.
He stated that the warning was sent in response to alleged fraudulent appointments issued by the SGF office in order to defraud unwary individuals.
Akume disproved the material that was circulating on social media, emails, text messages, and other channels, tempting members of the public to submit their Curriculum Vitae for a fee to a desk in his office that did not exist.
“The perpetrator has been defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians by using the name of the former Director Information, Willie Bassey, and these fraudulent contacts, Aliyu Isah; +234 9168487156, +234 8035557865, and email; draliyu95@gmail.com, among others.”
“The general public is advised by this notice to be wary of the perpetrators of these dubious activities and their cohorts, and to disregard any information that may be circulated.”
“Any official enquiry and clarification should follow the official communication channels of the OSGF via www.osgf.gov.ng and info@osgf.gov.ng,” stated the official.
As a result, the SGF advises peddlers of such bogus requests to stop using the Office to swindle unwary members of the public immediately or face the full wrath of the law.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the SGF issued the same warning to the general public earlier this month.
