RCCG elder kidnapped in Ogun, kidnappers demand N50m ransom

In a distressing incident, suspected kidnappers have abducted 70-year-old farmer Pa Adeife Ifelaja in Ogun State. A respected elder at a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Ijebu Igbo, he was kidnapped on the night of December 31, 2023, while preparing for the Crossover service.

Sources reveal that the kidnappers have contacted the family, demanding a hefty N50 million ransom for his release. Negotiations have been ongoing, with reports suggesting an initial request for N10 million. However, it remains unclear whether any ransom has been paid.

Confirming the incident, Commissioner of Police Abiodun Alamutu assured that the police are actively working to secure Pa Adeife Ifelaja’s rescue. Despite attempts by the kidnappers to mislead authorities about their location, the police are determined to track them down. The Commissioner expressed confidence that success in resolving the situation would be achieved soon.
