Crafting Success: Nigeria’s artisan alliance with Abu Dhabi
In a collaborative effort, the Nigerian government is on the verge of finalizing an agreement with Abu Dhabi’s government in the UAE. The objective is to supply the Gulf Kingdom with a skilled workforce of 14,000 artisans from Nigeria. This noteworthy development, disclosed by Afiz Oluwatoyin, Director General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), unfolded during a recent stakeholder meeting held in Abuja.
These artisan alliance, earmarked for training and retraining through the Skill Up Artisan programme (SUPA), are set to receive coveted golden visas from the Abu Dhabi government. Bldr. Tosin Umar, a member of the Council of Registered Builders in Nigeria, emphasized the importance of the government linking previously trained ITF artisans with these promising opportunities. Such a move holds the potential to bridge skill gaps and foster professional growth in both nations.
