Army rebuts claims: Troops well-cared for in Zamfara operation

The Nigerian Army has swiftly countered reports circulating about the alleged poor treatment and inadequate feeding of troops engaged in Operation Hadarin Daji in Zamfara State.

A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Ikechukwu Eze, the spokesman of the 8 Division, Sokoto, dismissed the online report that claimed troops had not received their December allowances as untrue and unfounded.

The statement clarified that the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, actively involved in ongoing clearance operations in Zamfara State, shares the same source of sustenance as the troops. Despite acknowledging potential gaps in ration dispensing, the statement emphasized that such cases, if identified through proper channels, would receive prompt attention.

While troop operations allowance for December is still in processing, the statement assured that the welfare and well-being of troops remain a priority. The authorities are dedicated to ensuring troops are adequately catered for, recognizing the positive impact on their performance and overall morale.
