The recently kidnapped chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Philip Aivoji, has regained his freedom. Aivoji, who was abducted by unidentified gunmen along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, has been released four days after the incident.

Philip Aivoji, along with other party chieftains, was kidnapped at the Ogere area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while returning from the party’s Stakeholders’ Zonal Caucus meeting convened by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, in Ibadan, the state capital.

The State Publicity Secretary, Hakeem Amode, announced Aivoji’s release in a brief statement issued around 1:15 am on Monday. Amode expressed gratitude for the prayers and concerns of well-wishers during the challenging period.
