The Lagos State Police Command has detained popular musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, over an outstanding debt related to the purchase of a G-Wagon. Portable, who had bought the vehicle for N27 million, only paid N13 million and refused to pay the remaining N14 million, claiming the car was defective.

According to an online media house, the car dealer repeatedly tried to get Portable to settle the balance, but his efforts were in vain. Portable consistently claimed the vehicle had issues and did not fulfill his payment obligations. Frustrated by the lack of progress, the dealer reported the situation to the police.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Portable’s arrest. “Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought a G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million, and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today,” Hundeyin said.
