Sultan urges vigilance: Muslims advised to watch for new moon.

In a directive from Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Muslim Ummah is advised to be vigilant and observe the new Moon of Rajab 1445 AH, starting this Friday.

The announcement was made by Prof. Sambo Janaidu, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto, in a statement released on Thursday. The statement urges Muslims to begin the search for the new moon on Friday and report its sighting to the nearest District or Village Head for communication to the Sultan.

The Sultan extended his prayers, seeking Allah’s assistance for all Muslims in fulfilling their religious duties. It’s worth noting that Rajab, the seventh month in the Islamic calendar, is regarded as one of the four sacred months in Islam, during which battles are prohibited.
