FUT Minna secures N844.5m research grant from TETFund

The Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna has announced the reception of a significant National Research Fund (NRF) amounting to N844.5 million from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). Prof. Farouk Adamu-Kuta, the Vice Chancellor, revealed this development during a news conference marking the institution’s 41st Founder’s Day and combined 31st and 32nd convocation in Minna on Tuesday.

Maintaining its standing among the country’s top universities, FUT Minna showcased impressive research and innovation in 2022 and 2023. As a result, the university secured the research fund grant sponsored by TETFund. The Vice Chancellor highlighted other achievements, including a five million Euro grant from the European Commission for collaborative projects with 11 international institutions and an 800,000 Euro grant from the EU commission under the Erasmus Plus Programme.

Adamu-Kuta emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment and providing incentives for researchers and inventors. Additionally, he revealed that 7,312 students from the 2020/2021 and 2022/2023 academic sessions would graduate at the combined convocation, with 187 receiving first-class honors.
