Tinubu vows justice for slain Ekiti monarchs, orders immediate pupil rescue.
President Bola Tinubu strongly condemns the heinous killing of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State—Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Olatunde Olusola, and Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, David Ogunsola. The monarchs, returning from a security meeting in Irele-Ekiti, were ambushed, resulting in their tragic deaths.
Expressing profound grief, Tinubu assures that the perpetrators will face justice, according to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale. Tinubu extends condolences to the families, subjects, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the people of Ekiti State, terming the incident a “deeply agonizing development.”
In response to another security concern, Tinubu orders the immediate rescue of pupils and teachers kidnapped in the Eporo-Ekiti area. Gunmen abducted six pupils, three teachers, and a bus driver from Apostolic Faith School, Ekiti, as they returned from Eporo-Ekiti on Monday night.
Assuring Nigerians of reinforced security measures, Tinubu emphasizes the government’s commitment to fortifying the nation’s security architecture. He underscores the paramount responsibility of the government to safeguard life and property.
