Military operations neutralize terrorists in Borno.
In a series of successful operations conducted between January 2 and 6, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have dealt significant blows to terrorists in various areas of Borno State. The operations near Sambisa Forest targeted terrorists suspected of transporting arms and ammunition, resulting in effective airstrikes that eliminated 12 terrorists and destroyed their weaponry. Nigerian Air Force Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, reported that the strikes degraded the terrorists’ capacity to target civilians and engage military forces.
Following actionable intelligence, troops carried out operations in the Lake Chad region, resulting in the deaths of terrorists, as well as the destruction of their vehicles and motorcycles. Precision strikes near Tumbun Agiri on January 6, 2024, targeted a gathering of armed terrorists, leading to the destruction of vehicles, motorcycles, and the elimination of several militants. These successful operations underscore the ongoing commitment to securing the region and dismantling terrorist activities.
